Privacy Policy
Lambda Hive Pty Ltd (ABN 57 683 254 926) (Lambda Hive, we, us or our) is based in Melbourne, Australia. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information through lambdahive.com and related communications.
1. Our privacy approach
We aim to handle personal information transparently and responsibly. To the extent that the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to us, we handle personal information in accordance with those requirements.
2. Personal information we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, email address, organisation, enquiry type, message and privacy acknowledgement when you use our contact form.
- Correspondence: information you include when you email us or otherwise communicate with us.
- Website usage information: pages viewed, referral source, device category, approximate country and selected interactions, including contact calls to action, successful form submissions and founder LinkedIn profile links.
- Technical and security information: your IP address, request time, requested page, browser or device details, and security events recorded in server, firewall and anti-spam logs.
- Administrative information: account and login information for authorised website administrators. We do not offer public website accounts.
We do not ask you to provide sensitive information through this website. Please do not include confidential, sensitive or unnecessary personal information in a general enquiry.
3. How we collect information
We collect personal information directly from you when you submit the contact form, email us or communicate with us. Technical and website usage information is collected automatically by our hosting, security, caching, anti-spam and self-hosted analytics systems when your browser connects to or interacts with the website.
4. Why we use personal information
- To receive, assess and respond to company, partnership, investment and general enquiries.
- To communicate with you and keep appropriate business records.
- To understand aggregate website use and whether our contact pathways are effective.
- To operate, secure, maintain and improve the website and its supporting systems.
- To detect and prevent spam, misuse, fraud and security threats.
- To comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not use personal information collected through this website to make automated decisions that have a significant effect on your rights or interests.
5. Contact forms, cookies and third-party services
Contact form submissions are sent to Lambda Hive by email. Contact Form 7 does not ordinarily save those submissions in the WordPress database on this site, although copies may remain in our mail systems, security logs and backups.
The public website uses limited cookies or similar technologies where required for administration, security, caching and anti-spam controls. Authorised administrators receive WordPress login and preference cookies. You can block cookies through your browser, but doing so may affect site or form operation.
We use Burst Statistics, hosted within our WordPress installation, in private cookieless mode. It does not set analytics cookies or create a persistent browser fingerprint. An IP address and browser user-agent are processed transiently to derive a salted identifier that rotates daily; the raw IP address is not retained in the analytics records. We record aggregate page views, referral sources, device categories, approximate countries and the selected interactions described above. Visitor analytics are not sent to an external analytics provider, and browser Do Not Track signals are honoured.
- Cloudflare Turnstile helps distinguish legitimate enquiries from automated abuse and processes technical and interaction information for that purpose.
- Hosting, email, security and caching providers process limited information as needed to provide and protect the website and deliver enquiry emails.
We do not use advertising cookies or behavioural advertising on this website.
6. Disclosure of personal information
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We may disclose information to service providers that support our hosting, email, security, backups, professional advice and business administration; to our personnel who need it for the purposes above; or to courts, regulators, law enforcement and other parties where authorised or required by law.
7. Overseas processing
Some technology providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries in which they or their subcontractors operate. Where the Australian Privacy Principles apply, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances before disclosing personal information overseas.
8. Retention and security
We retain enquiry and correspondence records only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, our business records, dispute resolution and legal obligations. Self-hosted analytics records are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. Technical and security logs are generally kept for shorter operational periods, subject to backups and incident requirements.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, encrypted connections, security monitoring, updates and backups. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
9. Access, correction and complaints
You may ask us for access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct inaccurate information. You may also make a privacy complaint. Contact us using the details below and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant records. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
We will acknowledge and investigate privacy complaints within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
10. External links
This website links to third-party sites, including LinkedIn. Those services have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not govern information they collect when you visit them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, services or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be published here with a new last-updated date.
